Morowali, 1 September 2026—PT QMB New Energy Materials conducted its Green Education CSR program at SD Negeri 4 Bahodopi on August 28, 2026, introducing students to water filtration and environmental protection through a hands-on learning activity.

Under the theme “Demonstration of a Simple Water Filtration System (Biofilter),” the activity was attended by 101 sixth-grade students, accompanied by four homeroom teachers and four QMB Guest Teachers.

Rather than relying solely on classroom instruction, the activity introduced students to the importance of clean water, sources of water pollution, the function of filter media, and the basic principles of biofiltration through an interactive demonstration.

Students observed firsthand how cloudy water changed after passing through different filter media. The demonstration also provided an opportunity for students to understand that protecting water resources can begin with knowledge, awareness, and responsible everyday practices.

More than a classroom lesson, the program encouraged students to understand the importance of protecting water and the environment around them. They learned that waste and human activities can affect water quality, while simple filtration can help reduce turbidity and certain impurities.

The activity also emphasized that water treated through a simple filtration process is not necessarily safe for drinking. Water intended for consumption requires appropriate treatment and testing to ensure its safety and quality.

The participation of four QMB Guest Teachers from the company provided an opportunity for employees to share their knowledge and experience directly with students. Their involvement also reflected QMB’s approach to community engagement, which includes not only material support but also knowledge-sharing and environmental education.

Through the Green Education program, QMB aims to introduce environmental issues to students through practical and accessible learning activities. The program is expected to encourage students to develop greater awareness of water quality and environmental protection in their daily lives.

The biofilter demonstration provided a simple example of how scientific concepts can be introduced through hands-on learning. By connecting classroom knowledge with practical observation, the activity encouraged students to better understand the relationship between human activities, water quality, and environmental protection.
