Morowali, 20 August 2026 — PT QMB New Energy Materials has continued its efforts to support education in communities surrounding its operations through the QMB Green Education CSR program, held at SD Negeri 4 Bahodopi in Morowali, Central Sulawesi, on 14 August 2026.

The program brought together 68 sixth-grade students and three homeroom teachers for a series of interactive learning activities covering environmental awareness, sustainability and safety.

As part of the program, QMB employees from several departments took part as guest teachers, sharing knowledge and practical experiences through age-appropriate activities designed to make learning more engaging and accessible.

The session featured three main themes: Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG), environmental awareness, and Health, Safety and Environment (HSE).

Under the ESG theme, students learned about the natural water cycle through a session titled “Water Cycle Diorama”. Using a visual diorama, the students were introduced to the key stages of the water cycle, including evaporation, condensation, precipitation and infiltration.

The activity also highlighted the relationship between water, human life and the environment, helping students understand the importance of protecting and using water resources responsibly.

In the environmental awareness session, titled “Nature’s Rainbow”, students explored the natural colours found in different fruits and vegetables through a simple colour-mixing experiment. The hands-on activity encouraged students to observe their surroundings, explore the diversity of natural foods and develop a greater appreciation for the environment and healthy lifestyles.

Meanwhile, the HSE session, “Little Safety Experts”, introduced students to potential hazards they may encounter in their everyday surroundings. Students were encouraged to identify situations that could lead to accidents and to understand the importance of awareness and preventive action.

The lessons connected safety education with everyday situations at school, at home and in the community, helping students develop simple habits that can contribute to a safer environment.

The QMB Green Education program also supports several United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4 on Quality Education. The program provides students with additional learning opportunities and access to practical knowledge shared by professionals from an industrial environment.

The activities focusing on water, environmental awareness and responsible behaviour also contribute to the broader objectives of SDG 6 on Clean Water and Sanitation, SDG 12 on Responsible Consumption and Production, and SDG 13 on Climate Action. Meanwhile, the safety education component supports the objectives of SDG 3 on Good Health and Well-being by promoting accident prevention and safety awareness in everyday life.

Through QMB Green Education, the company aims to support educational development while introducing young people to the importance of environmental responsibility, sustainability and safety.

By involving employees as guest teachers, the program also provides students with an opportunity to learn from people with practical experience across different fields.

QMB hopes that the knowledge and experiences gained through the program will encourage students to care more deeply about their environment, understand the importance of sustainability and apply safety principles in their daily lives.

The company plans to continue developing QMB Green Education as part of its broader commitment to supporting education and community development in areas surrounding its operations.
