QMB New Energy Materials Strengthens Waste Management Facilities in Labota Village

Labota Village in Bahodopi District, Morowali Regency, has experienced rapid population and economic growth in recent years. The village also lies within the operational area of the Indonesia Morowali Industrial Park (IMIP). As the population continues to expand and economic activities accelerate, the volume of household waste has risen sharply, posing new challenges for community environmental management.

To support the village government’s efforts in improving waste management, IMIP through its Area CSR Program, identified the need to enhance local waste management infrastructure. The availability of an arm-roll truck and additional waste containers has become an urgent need to streamline the processes of waste collection, transportation, and processing in Labota Village, enabling more effective environmental management.

As part of its commitment to environmental sustainability, IMIP together with the companies operating within the industrial area—including PT QMB New Energy Materials—officially handed over waste management facilities to the Labota Village Government. The handover ceremony took place at the IMIP SIDAYA (Sinergi Berdaya) area on Saturday, 22 November 2025.

The program aims to strengthen structured and sustainable waste management at the village level; improve the efficiency and coordination of waste collection and transport; reduce the risk of environmental pollution in residential areas and public facilities and foster collaboration among local government, village authorities, the community, and the companies in maintaining environmental cleanliness and health.

QMB hopes that the provision of the arm-roll truck and waste containers will become an important step toward long-term improvement in Labota Village and surrounding areas. With adequate waste management facilities, QMB expects daily waste handling operations to become more efficient and better structured, helping create a cleaner, healthier, and more comfortable environment for the community.

The village government is expected to better equipped to manage waste facilities, while residents are encouraged to become more aware and actively participate in maintaining environmental cleanliness—helping build a stronger culture of clean and healthy living.

The collaboration also strengthens synergy between companies, regional government, village authorities, and communities—not only in environmental aspects but also in broader social development programs. This initiative stands as a concrete example of the industrial contribution to sustainable development, aligning with the QMB and IMIP’s commitment to implementing ESG principles, particularly in the environmental aspect.

The new facilities is also expected to support waste reduction targets and contribute to improve environmental quality across Bahodopi District and Morowali Regency.

QMB remains committed to supporting programs that provide direct benefits to the community, particularly those focused on improving environmental quality.
