The mangrove ecosystem plays a vital role in maintaining coastal environmental balance. It helps prevent shoreline erosion, provides essential habitats for marine life, and serves as natural carbon sinks. However, mangrove coverage continues to decline due to natural factors and human activities. This loss increases coastal vulnerability, degrades fishery habitats, and weakens overall ecological functions.

As a company operating within an industrial park and strongly committed to sustainable development, PT QMB New Energy Materials is taking active contribution to support coastal ecosystem restoration. Through its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program, the company joined a mangrove planting initiative on 16 November 2025 in Bete-Bete Village, planting 2,000 seedlings. This program highlights QMB’s commitment to ecological sustainability, coastal conservation, and community empowerment.

The activity was carried out through multi-stakeholder collaboration, involving the IMIP Care Foundation, the PELITA Environmental Community, the university nature enthusiasts organization (MAPALA), the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI), companies within the IMIP Industrial Park, 20 volunteers from PT QMB New Energy Materials, and residents of Bete-Bete Village. This cooperation strengthened both the ecological impact and community engagement in mangrove conservation efforts.

The initiative has generated significant positive impacts, including the establishment of a mangrove restoration area, increased environmental awareness among hundreds of participants, enhanced long-term carbon absorption capacity, the creation of natural habitats for coastal marine life, and strengthened cross-sector collaboration between the IMIP and surrounding environmental communities.
