On December 31, 2024, QMB hosted the 2025 New Year's Party themed “Starting the New Year with a New Chapter and Go Green.” The event was attended by Prof. Xu Kaihua, Chairman of GEM; Zhou Bo, Director and Executive Deputy General Manager of GEM; Peng Yaguang, Deputy General Manager of GEM and General Manager of QMB; representatives from various QMB construction units; and both Chinese and Indonesian employees of QMB. Over 400 people gathered to celebrate the arrival of the New Year.

During the event, Chairman Xu Kaihua expressed his gratitude to all PT.QMB shareholders, especially Chairman Xiang Guangda of Tsingshan Holding Group, for their unwavering support. He also reviewed PT.QMB's remarkable achievements in 2024. In his remarks, he highlighted that PT.QMB successfully built and operated the world's largest HPAL project and supported Indonesia's first high-nickel ternary precursor production line. This accomplishment represents a major breakthrough in smelting technology and a successful transformation of laterite nickel ore into battery materials. It marks a significant step in advancing Indonesia's nickel resources from the traditional metallurgical industry to the new energy sector.

Furthermore, Chairman Xu shared the milestone achievement of GEM signing a new investment agreement worth USD 1.42 billion in the presence of President Prabowo. Through this new project, GEM aims to help Indonesia establish a world-class “Zero Carbon, Technology, ESG” green nickel park to meet the global demand for sustainable nickel in the new energy transformation. The establishment of the Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB) Laboratory further deepens scientific and technological cooperation between China and Indonesia, serving as a vivid example of international technology and cultural exchange.

Chairman Xu emphasized that 2024 was a pivotal year in PT.QMB’s development and a remarkable year for Indonesia's industrial progress. He attributed these accomplishments to the relentless efforts of PT.QMB’s overseas staff, who overcame numerous challenges and carried heavy responsibilities to build what he described as the world's most admirable, best, and most successful overseas team. On behalf of GEM’s shareholders and employees, Chairman Xu expressed heartfelt gratitude to PT.QMB’s leaders, construction teams, and Indonesian staff for their dedication. He also shared his hopes for the future, saying, “As we look ahead, PT.QMB will embrace 2025 with greater excellence and brilliance!”

Peng Yaguang, Deputy General Manager of GEM and General Manager of PT.QMB; Wang Yi, Deputy General Manager of PT.QMB; Jia Luo, Assistant General Manager of PT.QMB; and Yu Jinguo, General Manager of Weixing Construction and representative of the construction unit, each took the stage to deliver speeches. They expressed their confidence in PT.QMB’s future development and extended their New Year wishes to all employees.
