On April 25th, 2016, in order to establish a new energy vehicle commercial value chain with global competitiveness, build a new business model of "co-construction value chain, share competitiveness". Dongfeng Motor Xiangyang Touring Car Co., Ltd. (referred as “Dongfeng”), Samsung Huanxin (Xian) Power Battery Co., Ltd. (referred as “Samsung”) a nd GEM Co., Ltd. (referred as “GEM”) signed the Strategic Cooperation Agreement of New Energy Vehicles’ Green Supply Chain. The signing ceremony was held at the 14th Beijing International Automobile Exhibition in 2016. Mr. Lizhengrong, the president of Dogfeng, Mr. Cho Nam Seong, the president of Sumsung SDI a nd professor Xu Kaihua, the president of GEM were present at the signing ceremony.

Dongfeng is leading central enterprise in China’s automotive technology R&D a nd manufacturing, is China"s first new energy pure electric a nd hybrid dual qualification enterprise. Samsung (Xian) is a joint venture between China a nd South Korea that established by Samsung SDI, the world"s largest lithium battery a nd the world"s leading power battery manufacturing company, Anhui Huanxin Group a nd Xian Gaoke Group.

Before the signing ceremony, president Xu Kaihua a nd Samsung SDI Co., Ltd. President Cho Nam Seong conducted a cordial talk. President Xu took the DSS remote video to show Mr. Cho GEM’s national circular economy industry in details, a nd focused on displaying GEM’s battery material production workshop. President Cho Nam Seong praised GEM’s clean ternary battery material production workshop a nd paid particular attention to GEM’s recycling mode. President Xu Kaihua said that GEM has layout nationwide a nd established twelve circular industrial parks, has established a nationwide recycling network coverage model.

Subsequently, president Chao Nam Seong introduced Samsung SDI’s development plan to GEM a nd Dongfeng, a nd pointed out that this signing is a new starting point of cooperation, the tripartite cooperation will seize the Chinese new energy vehicle market. President Li Zhengrong said that taking the advantage of national policy, Xiangyang will vigorously develop new energy automotive industry, will further deepen the cooperation among Dongfeng, Samsung a nd GEM.

New energy automotive industry is becoming the leading industry of China"s green development concept, a nd has broad market prospects. Dongfeng, Samsung a nd GEM will based in Hubei, to work together to build a new energy automotive supply value chain alliance, to create the industry chain closed circulation system of "materials, batteries, new energy vehicle manufacturing, supply chain finance a nd power battery recycling", namely: power battery material (GEM) -- power battery (Samsung) -- new energy vehicle (Dongfeng) -- supply chain finance lease (GEM) -- villages, urban a nd rural areas transportation a nd logistics -- new energy vehicles maintenance – end-life vehicles a nd power battery recycling (GEM). Taking the green supply side closed circulation mode of “new energy+ villages, urban a nd rural areas transportation a nd logistics+ recycling” to conduct cooperation, to innovate credit chain a nd value chain mode of new energy automobile green supply chain.

Three parties make efforts to establish a competitive new energy green supply chain a nd recycling system, to promote Dongfeng’s new energy vehicle’s scale a nd commercialization, to promote GEM’s power battery pack production in Wuhan, to improve quality, reduce cost a nd expa nd market share. At the same time, build a car networking information management system to conduct the whole process monitoring a nd management of target cars’ operation, business promotion a nd maintenance.
