On the morning of 5th March 2015 which was the Lantern Festival according to Lunar Calendar, more than 30 teachers and students from Waseda University and Peking University who were led by Prof. Nakabayashi Miekon from Waseda University and Prof. Mei Fengqiao, the director of Environmental Management Department of the school of Environmental Science and Engineering of Peking University, paid a visit to GEM (Tianjin) Recycling Industrial Park. The leaders of GEM (Tianjin) Recycling Industrial Park paid a warmly reception for the teachers and students from Waseda University and Peking University, and accompanied them to visit GEM (Tianjin) urban mining museum, information monitoring platform and green dismantling workshop for ELV.

By learning about the collection of the electrical and electronic products since 1950s and high-tech environmentally friendly products by GEM in the Urban Mining Museum, the teachers and students from Waseda University and Peking University had a flavor of the scientific and technological achievements of GEM in the field of urban mining. The teachers and students expressed a highly admiration of them. Through this on site visit, the teachers and students from Waseda University and Peking University not only understood about the six modes of scrapped automobiles integrated treatments of GEM, but also learned about China’s advanced ELV comprehensive re-utilization technology which represented by GEM.

Before the departure, Prof. Nakabayashi and Prof. Mei expressed gratitude for the warm reception to Tianjin GEM and said there would be further academic exchanges and possible talent transport. Through this visit, GEM has increased its popularity amongst international and domestic university students, and showed the international leveled recycling industry and the spirit of recycling industry cultural.
