On 12th September 2014, accompanied by officials in the Hubei government and the School of International Education of HUST, representatives of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) visited GEM (Wuhan) Urban Mining Recycling Industrial Park. Jiang Zhenkang, the vice general manager of GEM group, play host to our guests and showed them the industrial park. ASEAN members visited the e-waste warehouse, the circular museum, e-waste dismantling workshop and the wood plastic composite (WPC) production line.
At the start of the industrial park tour, Jiang Zhenkang, the vice general manager of GEM, pinpointed the importance of the implementation of GEM Group’s Internet of Things system in the process of e-waste recycling , which represented an advanced technological and information system. The vice general manager gave a demonstration to all the present ASEAN representatives about the development of home appliances along with an in depth introduction of GEM’s recycling business modes. Detailed explanations of GEM’s patents and relevant qualifications in the circular economy were provided, which showed GEM Group’s leading position in this field. All the ASEAN representatives witnessed and affirmed the achievements of GEM Group in recycling process and technology, and highly praised GEM’s strategic objective of ‘Limited Resources, Unlimited Recycling’ and the determination of exploiting urban mines.
Later on, Mr. Jiang held a discussion with the ASEAN representatives on wastes recycling and processing, Chinese citizens’ participation in the recycling, the dynamic development in the environmental policies as well as the technologies in e-waste recycling. The ASEAN group members highly appraised the achievements of GEM in the circular economy, and looked forward to cooperating with GEM for mutual benefits.
