On July 22nd, 2013, General Secretary of the CPC, State president and Chairman of the CMC Mr. Xi Jinping paid an inspection visit to Wuhan GEM E-waste processing plant, accompanied by the Hubei provincial party committee secretary Li Hongzhong and the Hubei provincial governor Wang Guosheng. In the workshop, GEM’s CEO Xu Kaihua introduced GEM’s E-waste processing methods. While Chairman Xi walking along the visiting route, he paid attention to the disassembling line, watching the waste televisions, waste mobile phones, telephones and other electronic waste were disassembled orderly by workers. When Chairman Xi found out that the sorting line could turn the waste refrigerators into copper, iron, aluminum and other metals within a minute, he gladly asked about the technology gap of waste refrigerator processing procedure between China and developed countries.CEO Xu Kaihua was proud to report that GEM’s waste refrigerator harmless treatment technology had reached international advanced level, Chairman Xi was pleased with GEM’s achievements. Chairman Xi also communicated with the newly recruited university graduates and workers, concerned about their life and work.
