At 11:11am on November 1st, 2011, GEM celebrated the foundation stone laying and construction initiation ceremony of Urban Mine Recycling Industrial Park (east area) in Jingmen.
　　GEM plans to spend 1 billion Yuan for the new Recycling Industrial Park, which occupies a total land area of 100 hectares and is one kilometer away from the existing north plant and south plant. The first phase of this project in full swing is expected to complete a renewable resources trading and distribution market, a waste circuit boards and scrap metal processing and rare metal recycling plant, and a scrap car disassembling and recycling plant. 700,000 tons of waste PCB and ELV will be treated per year after the project put into production, thus will create more than 3 billion Yuan in production value and 100 million Yuan in tax. This new project will surely be constructed in accordance with the concept of Environmental-friendly, Ecological and Culture oriented, which contains 6 area of urban mine trading market, recycling economy display area, pollution abatement area, warehouse & logistics area and etc., to establish a world class urban mine recycling industrial park with advanced technologies, optimal environment and modern management system.
　　More than 500 officials who represented the national development and reform commission, the state ministry of industry and information, the ministry of commerce, state environmental protection department, Hubei province government, Hubei province development and reform committee, Hubei province commerce department, Wuhan municipal government statistics bureau, etc. and guests from Rio Tinto, Umicore, KBM, Hong Kong Productivity Council, Hong Kong Electronic Business Association, Jiangxi Copper Corporation, Aluminum corporation of America, Wistron Corporation, Day Yao group, Suning, ChangHong, etc. attended this event.
At the end of the ceremony, GEM signed Nickel Powder Strategic Cooperation Agreement with Rio Tinto; Bank-enterprise Cooperation Agreements with China Development Bank Hubei branch, Bank of China Hubei branch and China Construction Bank Shenzhen branch; Strategic Cooperation Agreement with China Mobile Hubei branch, successively.
