Dr. Kaihua Xu visiting GEM North America subsidiary

On Apr.18, 2011, Dr. Kaihua Xu, the president of GEM group, and Mrs. Min Wang, VP Marketing, arrived in Toronto Canada and spent the next day meeting staff members of GEM High-tech North America Corp, a fully owned subsidiary of Shenzhen GEM.

As part of GEM global development strategic planning, GEM High-tech North America Corp. was found in July, 2010 and set up its head office in Markham, Ontario. The purpose of establishing such an oversea operation is to further develop relationships with existing customers, to create a bigger wider sales network by using all marketing strategies, and to serve local end users as a customer service center. On the other hand, this oversea operation is also the eyes and legs of GEM main factories, helping R&D department better understand the need of US and Canadian market and become more customer-oriented when it comes to design and production.

After several months of observation at trade shows, developing new business with interested representatives, agents and distributors, and finding the right warehouses and setting up local showrooms, GEM High-tech North America Corp. has now become a fully active marketing and customer service branch of GEM group. Attending the Deck Expo Show in 2010 and exhibiting at IBS Show in early 2011 has created a positive publicity image for GEM as a responsible Chinese composite building material manufacturer, which significantly increased brand awareness, attracted more traffic on our English websites and initialized many cooperation intentions.

Dr. Xu and Mrs. Wang visited the head office of GEM North America in the morning, and later on were given a tour at two warehouses and showrooms in Toronto. Dr. Xu is aware of the challenges of North American market and appraised the effort of branch staff members. He also gave his vision and directions for the oversea branch, pointing out that there’s still a lot to do in developing and maintaining business relations with North American customers. Most importantly, we have to uphold our integrity as always, ensure GEM products meet all industry standards, codes and regulations, and make GEM a trusted name with a comprehensive line of products.
