Strong Partnership Continues with Rio Tinto Canada

On April 20th to April 21st, 2011, upon receiving the invitation from Mr. Greg Lavallee, General Manager of Rio Tinto, Canada, Dr. Xu Kaihua, the president of Shenzhen GEM Hi-Tech Co. Ltd., Mrs. Wang Min, VP Marketing, and Kenny B. Wu, General Manager of GEM Hi-Tech North American, GEM’s subsidiary in Canada, visited Rio Tinto, Canadian factory facility near Montreal, Quebec.

During the visit, Dr. Xu and his team were given a warm welcome by Mr. Greg Lavallee, and both parties exchanged many ideas and thoughts on continuing cooperation of nickel powder products. Mr. Greg Lavallee highly appreciated GEM’s effort and contribution over the past year on nickel powder supply to Rio Tinto, and expressed his willingness to engage in strategic cooperation with GEM. He re-emphasized that Rio Tinto would always keep its door open for GEM.

Dr. Xu and his team also visited Rio Tinto’s plant of iron alloy, and had another in-depth discussion on business process and product technology with Mr. Bob Wang, Director of Marketing, and Mr. Francois Chagon, Chief Scientist and Director of Technology. Mr. Francois Chagon also introduced in details the application of GEM nickel powder in Rio Tinto’s production. He highly appraised the improving quality of GEM nickel powder, which fulfills their requirements and now is exempt from Rio Tinto’s quality inspections.

The visit of Dr. Xu to Rio Tinto, Canada further enhanced the strategic partnership between GEM and Rio Tinto, and has far-reaching significance on GEM cobalt and nickel powder product to enter and compete in the mainstream market.
