Congratulations to the ceremonious commissioning of the e-waste comprehensive utilization program in Wuhan GEM

In the morning of March 29th 2011, Wuhan Yangluo circulation industrial park of GEM had performed a significant ceremony to celebrate the commissioning of its e-waste comprehensive utilization program. A great numbers of government leaders and departments from Hubei province, Wuhan city and Xinzhou district, as well as the experts and scholars from many famous universities and research institutes such as Tsinghua University, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, and Central South University were participating in the ceremony. The commission ceremony had received many congratulations and blessings from all levels.

At the ceremony, Dr. Kaihua Xu, president of GEM delivered a passionate speech about the corporate mission and responsibilities of GEM which inspired every participant. Moreover, scholars, experts and government leaders from all levels gave their speeches with enthusiasm, which highly valued GEM’s circulation industrial mode of exploring “urban mine” resources. They said that Hubei province was proud of having such great enterprises such as GEM, and they were expecting GEM could further deepen development efforts and become even better.

With warm applause, the innovative coalition of e-waste comprehensive utilization was formally founded with the witness of the leaders from Wuhan and Hubei government. The coalition was initiated by GEM, Beijing University of Technology, Central South University, Tsinghua University, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, China’s household appliances research institute, and China resources comprehensive utilization association. The director of innovative coalition was undertaken by Mr. Tieyong Zuo - a famous material scientist and expert of circular economy, the founder of China circular economy, vice chairman of the ministry of education and technology committee, academician of Chinese academy of engineering, vice Chairman of Chinese academy of engineering and education committee, former deputy director of the Chinese people’s political consultative conference, and deputy director of China association for science and technology.

In the end, Vice governor of Hubei Province Mr. Shenglian Guo announced Wuhan GEM’s e-waste comprehensive utilization program was officially going into operation. After the ribbon cutting ceremony, leaders and guests visited the circulation industrial park of Wuhan GEM. Once again GEM’s achievement was affirmed and they encouraged GEM to continuously making progress on the innovation and development of Chinese circulation industry.
