As one of Shenzhen’s first bid-winning recycling enterprises, GEM arrives Ludan Village on April 17th, holding an “old for new” activity, in order to publicize the subsidy policy of “old for new” in household electrical appliances.

Ludan village is an old community. The residents tell us that the whole community is under reconstruction and most of them have to move. The moving of old appliances is thus a big trouble. The “old for new” service of GEM is just in time and provides great convenience by allowing them to dispose old appliances and get certificates at the same time.

Ms Li, a resident of the community, arrived early in the morning and immediately joined the activity after a detailed introduction of GEM staff. “With the ‘old for new’ policy, we can not only receive subsidies from the government, but also depreciation from GEM, which means hundreds of RMB can be saved, and that is very economical”, she said. “Besides, we are going to move, if GEM takes these old appliances away, it will save lots of trouble”, continued Ms Li. Many people think that the “old for new” service of GEM has made their life more convenient and wish it will be continued in the future.
