On the afternoon of November 6, 2021, GEM delivered care, in Jingmen Industrial Park, to the family members of its employees working on QMB Indonesian Nickel Resources Project. Nearly 70 family members from 43 families of GEM overseas employees got united in the online approach in GEM, where laughter and applause were heard, adding distinctive warmth to the chilly autumn days.

When the world is being hit by COVID-19 pandemic, more than 100 GEM employees work on the project in Indonesia, standing against the test of pandemic control and working hard on GEM project in the overseas market. In spite of the pandemic and many difficulties, they make painstaking efforts to ensure the project moves on quickly. In this period, family members of GEM’s overseas employees give their understanding and support. GEM, almost keeping in mind its overseas employees and family members, has kicked off the special care for the family members of its employees working on nickel resources project in Indonesia.

At 16:00 p.m., the family members of overseas employees walked into the Urban Mine Museum and the green workshop of GEM to feel the circular culture and understand the circular industry. A Vlog video clip from Indonesia helped the family members better understand the work and life of GEM overseas employees, so that the family members can feel more assured.

At the workshop, Mr. Tang Xingbang, the principal of Chinese Dispatching Center of QMB Indonesia Nickel Resource Project, expressed thanks and delivered heartfelt greetings and respect to the overseas employees of GEM and their family members who care for, understand and support overseas business of the Group. He said GEM will work as the strongest supporter for its overseas employees and make every effort to secure their health, safety, career and happy life, so that the employees and their family members will feel assured.  

In the online way, the overseas employees and their family members just greeted and encouraged each other. Dr. Xu Pengyun, the Deputy Director of Technical Test Center for the Indonesia Nickel Project, delivered thanks to the family members from the Indonesia Project Department 5,000km away. He said the overseas employees will work hard in spite of all difficulties and try to get united with the family members as soon as possible. The family members said they will continue to support the development of GEM and give more tolerance, understanding and support to the overseas employees without adding pressure to them so that they can feel assured to work overseas.

To express thanks to the family members of overseas employees working on Indonesia Nickel Project for their understanding and support, GEM delivered cash and gifts to them before the workshop came to the banquet session full of joyful laughter. For the family members unable to attend the workshop, GEM will send the best regards to all through door-to-door visit or mailing.
