When GEM is celebrating the 20th anniversary, the company has launched the Lover’s black tea from GEM for the purpose of rural revitalization. Originated from the depth of mountains on the bank of Tianhe River, which is the birthplace of the love story between the Cowboy and Weaving Fairy in Yunxi of Hubei Province, the Lover’s black tea from GEM carries the cultural elements brought by the love story. Along the banks of Yunxi Tianhe River, we can not only see the attractive ecology. Even more, it is the upstream place of Danjiangkou Reservoir, a project in the South-to-North Water Diversion, which has the original clean and ecological environment.

In December 2021, the first batch of 833kg tea worth about CNY 1.3 million planted by farmers in Xiaying Village of Jianchi Township, Yunxi County, Shiyan City, Hubei Province, was packaged in the Lover’s black tea brand customized by GEM and transported to GEM. It is estimated that the 833kg tea in this batch has helped 105 local people in 31 households increase their per capita income by CNY 9,520. On the road towards rural revitalization, GEM has added a new chapter in the industrial revitalization through Lover’s black tea.

Since 2022, GEM will continue to take the approach of “accessing farmers and picking up tea leaves in designated gardens” in the deep mountains on both banks of the Tianhe River in Yunxi. Each year, it will order more than two million CNY worth of tea from tea farmers in Shangying Village. It is expected to encourage farmers to plant more than 300 Chinese mu (20 hectares) of tea, which can increase the average income of nearly 100 farmers by more than CNY 20,000. Relying on the unique experience value and strong attraction of tea culture, Lover’s black tea from GEM shows the natural features and cultural customs of Yunxi, and becomes a display window for the publicity and exchange of high-end brands in Yunxi, so that premium tea can have high price, truly implement the targeted poverty alleviation and rural revitalization, and promote the local working people in Yunxi to accelerate the pace of getting rich while embarking on the road of common prosperity.
