The epidemic can not stop the friendship and exchanges between the Chinese people and the Indonesian people. On April 12, 2022, the training and exchange meeting of metallurgical engineering technical talents jointly held by GEM, Central South University(CSU) and the Ministry of Marine Affairs and Investment Co-ordination and the mutual employment ceremony of adjunct professors of CSU and Bandung Institute of technology of Indonesia were held online, aiming to jointly promote trilateral exchanges and cooperation. Professor Xu Kaihua, Secretary of the Party committee and Chairman of GEM, attended the event. Other leaders, experts and scholars attending the event include: Dr. Reini (President of Bandung Institute of technology), Professor Satryo, Dr. Manti, Deputy Director Saptono (senior consultants of Indonesia's Ministry of Marine Affairs and Investment Co-ordination), Professor Guo Xueyi (Vice President of CSU), Academician Chai Liyuan (vice president of CSU), Bai Yi (Director of International Exchange and Cooperation Division), Huang Helai (President of the Institute of international Education), Cheng Qiongwen (Secretary of the school of metallurgy and environment), Dr. Zhang Yuping, Dr. Zhang Kun (Deputy general managers of GEM group) etc.
At about 10 a.m., the event was launched, while Professor Guo Xueyi, Professor Satryo and Chairman Professor Xu Kaihua delivered speeches respectively.

Professor Xu Kaihua said that the world epidemic situation can not separate our mutual concern and friendly exchanges, and the great changes in the world situation can not stop us from working together to move towards a green and bright future! Thanks to the efforts of Lu Hute, Minister of the Ministry of Marine Affairs and Investment Co-ordination of Indonesia and Guo Xueyi, President of CSU, and the care and efforts of all participating teachers of CSU, the class for China-Indonesia masters of metallurgical engineering was opened and smoothly promoted. On this basis, GEM can better integrate into Indonesia and make better contributions to Indonesia's cultural exchanges, metallurgical technology and new energy development. Professor Xu Kaihua regards Indonesia as his second hometown and Bandung Institute of technology as his second alma mater. He said that he would lead GEM to spare no effort and make contributions to the technological development of Indonesia's metallurgy and new energy industries and the development of Bandung Institute of technology! In particular, GEM will promote scientific and technological exchanges between China and Indonesia, and promote scientific and technological cooperation and exchanges between Central South University and Bandung Institute of technology. Chairman Xu promised that in the future, three important things should be implemented in the in-depth cooperation between the three parties: firstly, GEM will build a world-class engineering test center for nickel resources and new energy materials in Indonesia's Sulawesi (named K island) to become the technical leader in Indonesia's deep utilization of nickel resources and new energy development; Secondly, GEM will promote the development of joint training classes from "1" to "N" to meet the talent needs of Indonesia's metallurgical engineering and new energy development in response to the call of President Guo Xueyi; Thirdly, GEM will set up a scholarship in Bandung Institute of technology, Indonesia, with an annual amount of 1million yuan for 30 years, to support students of Bandung Institute of technology to study in Indonesia.

Subsequently, Central South University announced that it would hire Indonesian Professor Satryo and other internationally renowned professors as adjunct professors of CSU. Bandung Institute of technology announced that it would hire Professor Xu Kaihua of GEM, Professor Guo Xueyi of CSU, Academician Chai Liyuan and other internationally renowned scholars as adjunct professors of Bandung Institute of technology.

GEM, CSU and the Ministry of Marine Affairs and Investment Co-ordination of Indonesia agreed that the successful implementation of the first joint training class for master of metallurgical engineering has proved that the innovative talent training mode of government, enterprises and universities has long-term progressive significance. In the future, guided by the Chinese government's "the Belt and Road" and the Indonesian government's strategy of becoming a maritime power, all parties will continue to carry out in-depth cooperation around friendly exchanges between China and Indonesia, further strengthen scientific research exchanges and talent training between China and Indonesia with CSU and Bandung Institute of Technology as theoretical learning platforms and GEM as practical platforms, providing senior talents for the development and utilization of Indonesia's mineral resources and making greater contributions to the development of international cooperation and exchanges between China and Indonesia.
