The 17th Group of Twenty (G20) Heads of State and Government Summit (G20 Summit) took place in Bali, Indonesia from November 15 to 16, 2022, with the theme "Recover Together, Recover Stronger". Prof. Xu Kaihua, Board Chairman of GEM, was invited to attend the B20 Summit and other major events during the G20 Summit, offering advice on the recovery of the world economy together with other global entrepreneurs. As a world-advanced and Chinese leading waste recycling and circular economy industry group, GEM is committed to contributing Chinese green solutions for the green and low-carbon development of the world, practicing corporate ESG management and performing corporate social responsibility. Phase 1 of the QMB nickel resources project in Indonesia, inspired by the design concept of "technology + intelligence + green", has been put into operation, with Phase 2 under way. On November 14, 2022, to cooperate in talent training for the project, deepen fusion into Indonesian culture, and promote the sustainable development of the project, GEM signed an MOU with YAYASAN UPAYA INDONESIA DAMAI (UID) in Bali, Indonesia.

The two sides planned to jointly establish a research institute with existing resources and facilities. Under the green values of promoting harmony between man and nature, they will serve global carbon neutrality and green development, conduct joint strategic research on green carbon reduction technologies, new energy materials and carbon footprint, train advanced green technology engineering talents for Indonesia, carry out exchanges on global green technologies and value, serve the mitigation of global warming and Indonesia's needs for green technology progress and talent growth, and further discuss how to advance the partnership. The signature of the MOU will facilitate GEM's efforts in building a global ESG demonstration park in Indonesia and training advanced green technology engineering talents for Indonesia, and promote cooperation in the global ESG value chain.
