Thanks to the painstaking efforts of the lovely staff, GEM made historic and brilliant achievements in the past year of 2022. At the 2022 Annual Conference on Work Summary and Innovation Quality, Prof. Xu Kaihua, Board Chairman of GEM, hailed "them as the cornerstone for the prosperity of GEM, as well as the key to GEM's invincibility in the great changes of global competition." To implement Prof. Xu Kaihua's instruction of "taking good care of the staff of GEM and helping those in need", create a harmonious atmosphere for the staff, and make the support culture of GEM a green harbor for the staff to live and work in peace and contentment, with the 2023 Chinese New Year around the corner, the Labor Union of GEM, together with the headquarters and the industrial parks under GEM, organized visits to 66 staff members in need, family members of more than 1,000 staff members abroad, 46 poverty-stricken households in communities and villages subject to land transfer around the parks, as well as targets of enterprise-village paired support, offering them nearly 800,000 yuan in cash and gift, extending New Year greetings, and wishing them an auspicious and happy new year.

The timely visits in the chilly winter warm the needy staff and their families. Whenever they went, the persons in charge from the parks talked with the staff cordially, extending good wishes for the New Year, praising their diligent and silent efforts in the past year, expressing heartfelt thanks to their families for their strong support, and asking them to take care of themselves in busy work. At the same time, they inquired about their family status and physical conditions, as well as the academic situation of their children, and said the company is a strong backing and a second "home" for all the staff. The supported staff and their families expressed their gratitude for the care from the company and the leaders, saying they would devote themselves to work with greater enthusiasm and rigorous attitude, and make full contributions to the development of GEM. The families of the staff added that they would continue to support their work and wished GEM every success!

It is the unswerving responsibility of GEM to visit the families of staff and the front line for exchanges and support, improve the living facilities of staff, and build harmony among staff in a solid manner. In the face of difficulties, GEM has never let any staff member go alone, but always been of one mind with them, and promoted the positive energy of the times. As long as the families of staff are in need, GEM and its staff will not hesitate to extend a hand. GEM calls for joint efforts to create a wonderful life.

While supporting the needy staff, all the industrial parks of GEM have devoted themselves to targeted poverty alleviation, rural revitalization and enterprise-village paired support, visited senior Party members and firefighters, and been engaged in other forms of support. On January 18, a delegation of GEM Jingmen Park drove from the company to Jinniu Village, Huangshantou Town, Gong'an County, Jingzhou City, Hubei Province, to visit 27 families in difficulty. The delegation was attracted by a wide and flat asphalt road on the way. This road, about 9 cm thick, was constructed in 2022 with an investment from GEM. After being built up, it greatly facilitated the villagers' travel, drove local economic development, and became a "road to wealth" in the village. With the Spring Festival around the corner, GEM revisited Jinniu, offering a sum of approximately 140,000 yuan as the costs of square operation and maintenance, green maintenance, street lamp installation and convenient facilities management. Zhang Shun, Party Secretary of Huangshantou, expressed his gratitude to Prof. Xu Kaihua for his contributions to his hometown, and sincerely invited all the staff of GEM to visit this beautiful place at their convenience. On January 19, the delegation visited Gaojian Village, Chongyang County, Xianning City, offering a sum of approximately 100,000 yuan as the fund for local rural revitalization, wages for rangers, and subsidies for 10 Party members and households in difficulty. The delegation brought the warm sunshine of the New Year to Gaojian.
