Morowali, 19 September 2026—QMB Group held the fourth session of its Green Education program at SD Negeri 4 Bahodopi on September 18, 2026. The session was attended by 75 fourth-grade students from three classes, along with three homeroom teachers and volunteer instructors from various QMB Group departments.

The Green Education program is part of QMB’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives in education. It aims to introduce students to environmental awareness, teamwork, safety, and other principles related to Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) through interactive and age-appropriate activities.

The fourth session featured three hands-on activities: the Glass Cup Tower Challenge, Natural Color Stamp Experiment, and Amazing Turmeric Lamp Demonstration. The activities combined teamwork, creativity, environmental awareness, and basic science concepts in an interactive learning environment.

Building Teamwork Through the Glass Cup Tower Challenge

The first activity, the Glass Cup Tower Challenge, involved students working in groups to build a tower using glass cups. The activity encouraged students to communicate, coordinate, divide responsibilities, and solve problems together.

Students were also encouraged to listen to and respect their teammates’ ideas while paying attention to safety during the activity. The exercise introduced the Social dimension of ESG through practical lessons on teamwork, shared responsibility, communication, and decision-making.

Exploring Natural Materials Through Creative Experiments

The second activity, the Natural Color Stamp Experiment, introduced students to the creative use of materials from their surroundings. Students experimented with natural materials to create colorful artwork while learning about responsible use of available resources.

The activity provided a simple introduction to the Environmental and Social aspects of ESG by encouraging students to appreciate natural resources and consider how they can be used responsibly.

Learning Science Through the Amazing Turmeric Lamp

The third activity, the Amazing Turmeric Lamp Demonstration, introduced students to basic science concepts through a simple hands-on experiment. Students observed the process, asked questions, and explored how the materials used in the activity interacted with light.

The activity demonstrated how everyday materials and simple experiments can be used to make science more accessible and engaging. Through observation and experimentation, students practiced curiosity, critical thinking, and problem-solving.

Connecting Everyday Learning with ESG

Through observation, experimentation, and reflection, students not only gained basic scientific knowledge but also developed their observation, creativity, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.

Overall, the fourth Green Education session combined ESG-related themes, environmental awareness, safety, creativity, teamwork, and science through hands-on activities. The approach allowed students to explore these concepts through experiences that are relevant to their everyday lives.

The program is part of QMB’s ongoing CSR efforts to support education and community development in areas surrounding its operations. Through Green Education, QMB continues to provide opportunities for students to explore environmental awareness, teamwork, creativity, and scientific inquiry in an engaging learning environment.
