Morowali, 8 June 2026 – In celebration of World Environment Day, QMB organized a series of community outreach activities under its “QMB Green Education” program at SDN 4 Bahodopi on 4–5 June. The initiative reflects GEM’s green philosophy of “Limited Resources, Unlimited Recycling” and aims to strengthen environmental awareness among young students.

The program engaged students and teachers through interactive educational activities designed to promote sustainable habits, encourage environmental stewardship, and foster a greater sense of responsibility for protecting the environment.

To encourage students to put environmental concepts into practice, the program also featured a Waste-for-Books-and-Stationery Exchange initiative. Students collected recyclable materials, including used plastic bottles, batteries, and waste paper, and exchanged them for books and school supplies. The activity provided a practical introduction to resource recycling while reinforcing the value of responsible waste management.

In addition to the educational activities, students and teachers took part in a school clean-up campaign, working together to improve the cleanliness of the school grounds and surrounding areas. The initiative helped create a cleaner and more comfortable learning environment while strengthening participants’ sense of environmental responsibility.

Following the event, all recyclable materials collected through the exchange program were handed over to the local KSM Waste Bank for sorting and further processing. This step supports ongoing efforts to recover and reuse valuable resources while promoting a circular economy approach within the community.

Moving forward, QMB plans to expand its QMB Green Education program to more schools, bringing GEM’s philosophy of “Limited Resources, Unlimited Recycling” to a wider audience and encouraging students to adopt sustainable habits from an early age.

In line with its commitment to “Cultural Integration and Growing Together with Indonesia,” QMB will continue supporting environmental education and community-based sustainability initiatives, contributing to Indonesia’s green and sustainable development.
