Morowali, 22 April 2026—PT QMB New Energy Materials implemented a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative by participating as guest teachers in the “Inspirational Class” program, which focuses on renewable energy and targets junior and senior high school students.

The initiative reflects the company’s commitment to Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles, particularly within the social and environmental pillars, by expanding access to quality education and strengthening environmental literacy among youth in its surrounding operational areas.

The program is designed to foster early awareness of the transition toward clean and sustainable energy, in response to global challenges such as climate change and the increasing demand for environmentally friendly energy sources.

During the session, QMB delivered educational material on the fundamental of renewable energy, including solar, hydro, wind, and biomass, as well as their role in supporting environmental sustainability and future energy efficiency. The company also introduced career pathways in the energy and environmental sectors, aiming to broaden students’ perspectives on professions that contribute to sustainable development.

The learning approach combined theory with experiential learning through hands-on practice, including the construction of simple waterwheel models to simulate hydropower use. This method was intended to strengthen both conceptual understanding and practical skills, making the sessions more interactive and accessible.

The program generated positive outcomes, reflected in the high level of students engagement and participation throughout the sessions, as well as improved understanding of renewable energy concepts and the relevance to everyday life. It is also contributed to raising environmental awareness and encouraging more sustainable mindsets toward greater concern.

In addition, the initiative helped strengthen the relationship between the company and the local community, especially educational institutions, as part of broader efforts to create sustainable shared value.

From a strategic standpoint, the program aligns with several Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), including SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 7 (Affordable and Clean Energy), SDG 13 (Climate Action), and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) through its focus on education, awareness-building, and cross-sector collaboration.

Overall, this initiative not only enhances students’ knowledge in the short term, but also contributes to the long-term capacity building among the younger generation, while reinforcing QMB’s role as a socially and environmentally responsible company within the ESG framework.
