On the most beautiful day in April, the spring scenery doesn't disappoint those venturing out to sea! On April 4th, QMB organized the first quarter production, operation, and construction sprint meeting. Professor Xu Kaihua, Chairman of The Group, attended the conference and delivered a speech.

Chairman Xu Kaihua pointed out that the on-site construction of QMB is progressing vigorously, with rapid project development. This is inseparable from the collective efforts of all construction personnel. The results of three months of struggle prove that our team of technicians has international competitiveness. At the same time, we hope that all engineering teams will muster their strength, continue to sprint, and successfully complete the goals of completing the main construction in April, equipment debugging in May, and material debugging in June.

Chairman Xu Kaihua positively acknowledged QMB's achievement of exceeding nickel metal production by 30% in the first quarter, achieving a 'Good Start' in performance. He expressed that QMB's strong performance serves as the driving force behind the outstanding performance of the group in the first quarter. QMB has already established the most charismatic and outstanding offshore team globally.

Chairman Xu Kaihua emphasized that the Indonesian government's support for the development of Chinese companies in Indonesia and for the development of the new energy industry represents a historic opportunity. At the same time, the competition of the times, the reshuffling of the industrial chain, and the consolidation within the global new energy industry also bring us opportunities. We must seize these opportunities, ride on the favorable winds of China-Indonesia cooperation, muster our strength to continue sprinting, and strive to achieve the early production of new projects, enabling QMB to stand undefeated in the fierce global competition. After the commissioning of QMB new projects, the production of nickel sulfate and precursor materials will form QMB advantageous new energy industry chain. Combined with its unique advantage in low-carbon circular culture, QMB will truly become a world-leading enterprise in the new energy sector.

The management of QMB and the heads of outsourcing units delivered speeches at the meeting. Peng Yaguang, The Deputy General Manager of the Group and General Manager of QMB stated that “We will make joint efforts with external units, to achieve the early commissioning of this new project, the goal is to successfully achieve this 2024 annual target”. The head of Weixing Construction expressed that it is an honor to participate in such a big project in QMB, we will definitely complete the expected project goals on time. The representative from Zhongji Construction Company promised to strengthen the spirit, continue to strive forward and make every effort to achieve the goals. 

The meeting coincided with the holy month of Ramadan. After the meeting, Chairman Xu Kaihua went to the living area to participate in the breaking the fast together with Muslim employees of QMB. Chairman Xu Kaihua affirmed the historical contributions made by Indonesian employees to QMB. He stated that China and Indonesia are good friends, and QMB and Indonesian employees are also good friends. He hopes that all Indonesian employees will work and live happily in QMB and achieve brilliance in their lives. Chairman Xu emphasized that QMB should promote the integration of industries, technology, and culture between China and Indonesia, fully provide opportunities for Indonesian employees to grow, and continuously improve working and living conditions, becoming a leading global production base for new energy nickel raw materials. Finally, Chairman Xu broke the fast with Muslim employees and shared the blessings and fortunes during the month of Ramadan.
