On August 17, 2023, as Indonesia's Independence Day, grand celebrations were held across Indonesia to commemorate the 78th anniversary of the founding of the Republic of Indonesia. Morowali Industrial Park (IMIP) actively participated in these celebrations by inviting companies operating within the industrial park, in collaboration with the local government. As one of the invited companies, QMB also participated in this unforgettable celebration with passion and honor, together with Chinese staff and Indonesian staff representatives.

Under the drizzly sky, the honor guard marched powerfully, holding the brightly colored national flag, and the splash of rainwater glittered in each step. Although the white uniforms were wet with rainwater, it did not detract from the solemn atmosphere. With the national anthem played majestically, the red and white national flag rose into the air, stirring people's pride and emotion.

At the end of the ceremony, Alexander Barus, Chairman of IMIP, took the stage and solemnly pronounced the oath, marking the official opening of the festivities. Dance music echoed through the IMIP hall, with upbeat melodies lighting up the entire venue. Dancers showed their spirit in the warm-up exercises. Each dance performance team chose common songs and dance movements, but only QMB brought a unique performance, which won a round of applause from the audience.

A series of competitions such as sack race, 4-person clog race, sack running race, and coin-biting competition took place rapidly, with each competition filled with enthusiasm and challenges. In the sack race competition, QMB team performed well and finally won the second place. Especially in the final round, facing the well-trained IMIP security team, although at a significant disadvantage, QMB team members fought hard with bravery and spirit of struggle, and in the second round, they stalemated with their opponents for 5 minutes, gaining the respect and appreciation of the audience.

Even though QMB didn't win the championship, it demonstrated perseverance and a sense of honor far more valuable than the first award. This celebration was not only to commemorate Indonesia's 78th Independence Day but also to delve into the local culture, dispel misunderstandings and prejudices, expand horizons, and open minds. Such exchanges allow people to look at issues from various perspectives, in a more open, inclusive, and flexible way to tackle challenges. It helps QMB build a solid foundation on the journey towards cultural integration and growing together with Indonesia.
