11 August 2026, Jakarta—GEM has reached another milestone in strengthening its global innovation and intellectual property management capabilities, following the successful achievement of ISO 56005 Level 4 certification by PT QMB New Energy Materials in Indonesia.

On August 5, QMB obtained the ISO 56005 Innovation & Intellectual Property Management Capability (Level 4) evaluation certificate. Following its ISO 56001 Innovation Management System certification in 2025, QMB has become the first and currently the only overseas enterprise within GEM to achieve ISO 56005 Level 4 certification.

The achievement further strengthens QMB’s capabilities in innovation R&D, intellectual property management and technology commercialization, while marking an important step in the development of GEM’s global innovation management system.

QMB’s latest certification forms part of GEM’s broader efforts to establish a systematic innovation and intellectual property management framework across its domestic and overseas operations.

In June 2026, GEM Co., Ltd. and Jingmen GEM New Materials Co., Ltd., obtained ISO 56005 Innovation & Intellectual Property Management Capability (Level 3) evaluation, following their achievement of ISO 56005 Innovation and Intellectual Property Management Capability Level 3.

GEM’s innovation and intellectual property management framework is further supported by the GB/T 29490-2023 Intellectual Property Management System certification. Several key subsidiaries, including Jingmen GEM New Materials Co., Ltd., Wuhan Power Battery Recycling Technology Co., Ltd., Jingmen Power Battery Regeneration Technology Co., Ltd. and Wuxi Power Battery Regeneration Technology Co., Ltd., have previously obtained certification under the standard.

Together, these standards provide a structured framework covering innovation management, intellectual property protection, compliance and the commercialization of technological outcomes.
