Beijing, 11 April2026— GEM Co., Ltd. successfully hosted an investment exchange with guests from Indonesia's Ministry of Investment and Downstream Industry in Beijing. More than ten high-ranking Indonesian officials attended, including Mr. Rosan Perkasa Roeslani, Minister of Investment and Downstream Industry / Head of the Investment Coordinating Board, and Mr. Djauhari Oratmangun, Indonesian Ambassador to China. They were joined by Professor Xu Kaihua, Chairman of GEM, along with leading Chinese representatives.

Centered on the theme of industrial and cultural integration, both sides engaged in in-depth discussions on nickel resources development, downstream industrialization, green industrial park construction, and talent cultivation. The exchange explored new investment opportunities between China and Indonesia, committing to grow together with Indonesia.

This engagement built on the Framework Agreement for a 66,000-ton Nickel Metal Hydrometallurgical Green Project, signed on August, 2025, between Indonesia's Sovereign Wealth Fund, Danantara, and GEM. The agreement marks significant step forward in advancing Indonesia’s nickel downstream industry and strengthen GEM’s strategic presence in the country.

Long-term Commitment in Indonesia: Three Major Achievements

Chairman Xu Kaihua presented GEM's three major achievements in Indonesia since 2019, highlighting the company’s role in advancing industrial upgrading, talent development, and technological innovation. First, industrial achievement: GEM, has established the QMB high-tech industrial park, integrating “Technology + Intelligence + Green”. The park represents Indonesia’s first fully integrated industrial chain, from laterite nickel ore to high-nickel ternary precursors, significantly advancing the green transformation of the country’s nickel industry.

Second, talent cultivation achievement: Through partnership with the Indonesian government and Central South University, GEM launched the China-Indonesia Joint Master’s Program in Metallurgical Engineering. To date, 266 top Indonesian students have been admitted to study in China across disciplines including metallurgical engineering, rail transit, and international trade, contributing to a growing pool of skilled industrial talents. Third, technological cooperation achievement: GEM invested USD 30 million to establish the China-Indonesia Joint Research Laboratory in Bandung, now recognized as a key national innovation platform supporting Indonesia’s green industrial transformation.
