During the Ministry of Investment and Ministry Downstream Industry & GEM Investment in Indonesia Exchange Meeting, Professor Xu Kaihua warmly welcomed Minister Rosan Roeslani’s visit across mountains and seas, expressing heartfelt gratitude for bringing friendship, cooperation, and new opportunities to Chinese enterprises. He also sincerely thanked the Indonesian government for its long-standing support in creating a favorable business environment for GEM and other Chinese investors in Indonesia.

Professor Xu emphasized that Minister Roeslani had met him many times in Indonesia, providing strong support for GEM’s development. “Minister Rosan Roeslani is a true friend and brother of Chinese enterprises,” Xu said. He further expressed great admiration for President Prabowo’s philosophy: “One enemy is too many, a thousand friends are too few.” Indonesia, he noted, is a land of hospitality, with a superior investment environment, a government delivering efficient services, and abundant human and natural resources. Indonesia will become one of the fastest-growing countries in ASEAN and the world, especially in new energy and green industries.

Over the past six years, GEM has adhered to its unique investment philosophy of integrating industry, technology, and culture, cultivating long-termism in Indonesia through cultural integration and joint growth. Beyond achieving industrial success, GEM has contributed by training Indonesian engineering masters, establishing the “GEM–ITB–CSU China–Indonesia Joint Research Laboratory for New Energy Materials and Metallurgy Engineering Technology,” and ensuring Chinese technology benefits Indonesian society. This has become a landmark of Sino-Indonesian science and cultural exchange.

Professor Xu expressed deep gratitude to the Ministry of Investment and Downstream Industry and Danantara for choosing GEM as a strategic partner, enabling GEM to upgrade its role in Indonesia from private cooperation to national-level strategic collaboration. This demonstrates the Indonesian government’s trust in GEM and other Chinese enterprises, as well as the broad prospects of China-Indonesian cooperation.

Professor Xu also presented the vision and construction progress of the Indonesia Green Industrial Park (IGIP) and the BNSI Green Nickel Project, stressing GEM’s commitment to building world-class industrial clusters in green nickel resources, circular economy, and intelligent equipment. With these efforts, GEM aims to create more than 80,000 jobs, provide Indonesia with strong green growth momentum, and develop IGIP into a global benchmark for green industry and innovation, with aspirations for it to become one of Indonesia’s national economic special zones.
