On the afternoon of April 7, 2025, the inaugural mass production and shipment ceremony for GEM’s new-generation ultra-high nickel 9-series core-shell ternary precursor was grandly held at Jingmen Industrial Park, marking the beginning of the global mass production and commercialization of this advanced product. GEM has become the world’s only enterprise capable of large-scale production of ultra-high nickel 9-series core-shell ternary precursors. Amid the celebratory fanfare, nearly 200 tons of GEM’s new-generation ultra-high nickel 9-series core-shell ternary precursor were officially shipped from Hubei Jingmen to South Korea, entering the supply chain of a leading global new energy enterprise. Since the product's initiation, GEM has successfully developed the new-generation ultra-high-nickel 9-series core-shell ternary precursor through its determination in independent R&D, courage to tackle challenges, and relentless perseverance. This technology represents both the pinnacle of technical difficulty in global ternary precursor manufacturing and the cutting-edge direction of the industry's development. This achievement is a major industrial innovation resulting from GEM’s strategy of innovation leadership and quality prioritization, as well as its active practice of the innovation formula: “Super Talent + Super Equipment + Super Innovation = Super Achievement.” It also marks a breakthrough in the second-generation ultra-high nickel 9-series core-shell ternary precursor technology, following the successful mass production of the first-generation high-nickel 8-series core-shell ternary precursor in 2022, after three years of continuous technological R&D efforts.

Since 2019, GEM has implemented a global industrial layout in countries such as Indonesia and South Korea, partnering with Indonesian nickel resource enterprises and South Korean new energy industry chain companies to establish a globally competitive upstream and downstream industry alliance: “nickel resources — ternary precursor — ternary materials.” In Indonesia, GEM has built a high-tech smelting capacity for nickel resource products (MHP) totaling 150,000 metric tons of nickel per year and an annual production capacity of 50,000 tons of high-nickel ternary precursor materials.
